Writer and historian (b. 27 August 1947, İzmir).  He graduated from Yale University in the United States in 1968.  He worked as an instructor at Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences (1969-71, 1978-83), he directed Kaynak Publications (1983-86), and he worked as the Ankara correspondent for the weekly journal 2000’e Doğru (from 1987). He works as a freelance writer in İstanbul.  

His articles on the History of Europe and Turkey, politics and culture have featured in journals such as Tarih ve Toplum, Saçak, Toplum ve Bilim, Türkiye Gerçeği and in the newspaper Aydınlık.
